Community involvement
Our school values strong partnerships with our families and community. Parents and carers can get involved through our Parents and Citizens Association (P&C) or by volunteering at our school. Your time and support help make our school a better place for everyone.
Parents and Citizens Association (P&C)
Our P&C is a group of parents, carers and school community members. They assist with school planning, fundraising, events and volunteering.
The P&C Association is an integral part of the school and Bass Hill Public School is fortunate to have an enthusiastic and supportive parent community.
Our Canteen and Uniform Shop is run by the P&C as well as many community event celebrations and fundraising activities which support school resourcing and programs.
Our P&C support our fundraising efforts with many special events. You can attend our monthly meetings, take up a formal role or just provide a helping hand at one of the many events the P& hold each year.
All members of the school community are welcomed and encouraged to be active in the P&C and its activities.

P&C meetings
The Bass Hill Public School Parents and Citizen's Association (P&C) is a friendly and welcoming group of parents and carers who meet on the first Thursday of the month, onsite at 12.00 midday or via Zoom at 7.00pm.
Volunteer at our school
Helping at school is a great way to get involved in your child’s education as well as get to know the staff and other parents and carers.
Research shows that children benefit when their parents or carers are actively involved in their education and school life.
You can help by:
- listening to children read in the classroom
- volunteering on sports days and other events
- helping supervise excursions
- getting involved in fundraising activities
- joining school committees
Benefits of Participating
P&C activities create wonderful opportunities for parents and carers to interact with students and staff to build a respectful, strong and safe school community.
The benefits of volunteering and participating in school events and activities include:
- Getting to know the Principal and teachers better
- Understanding more about what happens at school
- Sharing your skills and learning new ones
- Setting an example to children on being part of a community
We also welcome volunteers to help out in our canteen and uniform shop.
If you're interested in volunteering at BHPS, please contact the office on (02) 9644 3431 for more information.
